Character and Reputation

Yesterday, I came across an article from TOI, reputation vs character. I like a few lines:

In spite of doing your best, people may still speak ill of you. You have to accept that you can not stop people from creating their own perceptions nor can you stop anyone from talking negatively about you.

Reputation grows like a mushroom; character grows like an oak. It takes a long time to develop a great character but with commitment and efforts you can achieve anything.
